LAHORE (A News): All 33 terrorists were killed during the Jaffar Express rescue operation in the Bolan district of Balochistan, according to Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In an interview with Dunya News’ “On the Front,” he said that 21 civilians had already been killed prior to the start of the operation. All passengers were safely recovered at the end of the rescue operation, but four FC members also accepted martyrdom.
According to Lt Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the captives were not harmed during the last clearing operation since it was executed with the utmost care and skill. The passengers were split up into three groups by the terrorists, and the rescue was carried out one by one.
Personnel from the FC, SSG, Pakistan Army, and Air Force participated in the operation.
The perpetrators behind the Jaffar Express assault have nothing to do with Islam or Balochistan, the ISPR DG said.
He said that the terrorists targeted innocent individuals with the help and encouragement of foreign handlers and utilized passengers as human shields.
He said it was hard to go to the attack scene since it was far away. Security personnel managed to save women and children in spite of these obstacles. At 1pm on March 11, terrorists attacked the railroad track and captured passengers, starting the attack.
The ISPR DG also said that following the tragedy, old footage were shown by Indian media, revealing the connection between terrorists and their followers.
He accused some people of abandoning national interests in their quest for power and criticized some Pakistani political figures for disseminating irrational propaganda. He emphasized, though, that Pakistanis are aware of these strategies and are keeping a careful eye on the situation.
He emphasized that troops still accept martyrdom on a daily basis while performing their duties, and he ended by recognizing the continued sacrifices made by security personnel.
On Tuesday, terrorists demolished a railroad track and halted a passenger train traveling from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, to Peshawar. Over 440 travelers were taken prisoner.
Security personnel, who carried out a rescue mission following the attack, have been fighting them.
Security sources claim that there has been a lot of ongoing gunfire between militants and the military. They cited security agents as saying, “The terrorists have been surrounded, and the operation will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.”
The terrorists have claimed to be holding 214 individuals, according to a senior police officer who was reported by Reuters. “The affected train is still on the spot and the armed men are holding up passengers,” he continued.
He stated, “Security forces launched a massive operation,” including the deployment of special troops and helicopters.
According to local authorities, police, and railway officials, the driver died after receiving severe injuries when the train became stuck in a tunnel.
According to the separatist militant organization Baloch Liberation Army, it “swiftly took control of the train” and blew up the track.
The BLA has requested that Baloch activists, political prisoners, and missing individuals who were allegedly kidnapped by the military be released within 48 hours.
According to the organization, “BLA is prepared for a prisoner exchange,”
