ISLAMABAD (A.News) – On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Pakistan’s Chief Justice Yahya Afridi at the Chief Justice House to congratulate him on his new role.
The Prime Minister also praised the Chief Justice’s trips to rural areas of South Punjab, interior Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as his efforts to provide prompt and effective justice by speaking with all stakeholders.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister reviewed the country’s economic position as well as concerns linked to security. He emphasized the long-pending tax issues in various courts and asked the Chief Justice to guarantee their timely settlement based on merit.
Chief Justice Afridi appreciated the conversation about judicial changes and asked the Prime Minister for advice on how to improve the justice system.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also told the Chief Justice that missing people cases will be handled promptly.
The conference was attended by Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahsan Iqbal, Attorney General Mansoor Awan, Registrar Saleem Khan, and Secretary of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan Tanzila Sabahat.
