The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has thrown off negotiations with the government after three rounds, saying that they would not meet with the authorities until the judicial committee is formed, according to the 24NewsHD TV station.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan announced on Thursday that PTI founder Imran Khan has decided to withdraw from the discussion after the fourth session of negotiations was set for January 28. The absence of any notification about the creation of the judicial committee was the basis for the negotiations’ cancellation, Gohar explained.
“The administration offered no cooperation. The negotiations cannot proceed unless there is a statement regarding commission creation,” Gohar said, adding, “The PTI was eager to continue the talks, and the process may move forward if a three-judge committee is formed.”
The PTI chairman stated that they will continue their battle in accordance with the law and constitution. “As per the directive of the PTI founder, they will join hands will all opposition parties to move forward,” according to him.
There have been three rounds of discussions between the PTI and the administration. In the second round, the PTI issued written demands to the incumbent government. The administration finally requested seven days to respond to the letter.
“No commissions, no negotiations,” PTI leader Omar Ayub stated in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. In a news conference on Thursday, Omar Ayub emphasized that the PTI will not participate in discussions unless the government forms a committee to probe the events of May 9 and November 26.
Meanwhile, the ruling party’s leader, Senator Irfan Siddiqui of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), has unequivocally said that no decision has been made to create a judicial committee.
Irfan Siddiqui responded to the PTI’s decision by saying he will issue a formal answer to the opposition party’s charter of demands on January 28.
