Reuters, Georgetown, Texas The Vulcan printer builds objects layer by layer, much like any other desktop 3D printer. The only differences are that it creates residential buildings, weighs 4.75 tons, and is wider than 45 feet (13.7 m).
The final handful of the 100 3D-printed homes at Wolf Ranch, a neighborhood near Georgetown, Texas, some 30 miles from Austin, are being completed this summer by the robotic printer from ICON.
In November 2022, ICON started printing the walls of what it claims to be the biggest 3D-printed town in the world. The business claims that 3D printing homes is quicker, less costly, involves fewer laborers, and reduces waste from construction materials when compared to traditional construction.
