Reuters, Rio de Janeiro – In an effort to strengthen their relationship on a matter that they view as crucial but that is viewed as secondary by opposition in both nations, the US and Brazil announced an agenda for their climate collaboration on Friday.
In a statement made during the G20 financial leaders’ gathering in Rio de Janeiro, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen stated that “advancing work on climate and on nature and biodiversity can bring benefits not only to both of our economies but also to the region and to the global economy.”
Brazil’s Finance Minister Fernando Haddad stated, “We want to be more close,” and he added that he anticipated these directives being swiftly translated into specific actions.
