Pervez Khattak, a former chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in that province, announced his resignation from the organisation on Thursday.
At a news conference in Islamabad, Khattak announced his resignation from the party office and condemned the vandalism on May 9. He was also a member of the PTI core committee.
The former chief minister of KP claimed that he had already condemned the May 9 incidents. He said that he came to a decision after “consulting his friends”.
