The National Highway Authority has raised tolls on highways and major motorways beginning April 5, with considerable hikes for both private and large trucks.

LAHORE (A News) – The National Highway Authority has announced a new rise in toll taxes on national roads and motorways, the second this year.

According to an official statement, the new toll charges will go into effect on April 5. The toll for automobiles on national roads has been fixed at Rs100, while the charge for the Kohat Tunnel has been raised to Rs250.

Significant improvements have also been undertaken on key highways such as M-1, M-3, M-4, M-5, M-14, and E-35. The toll for automobiles on the Islamabad-Peshawar M-1 highway has been increased to Rs700.

Car tolls on the Lahore-Abdul Hakeem M-3 highway have raised from Rs800 to Rs1,000. Similarly, the toll for the M-4 highway linking Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad and Multan has been hiked from Rs1,050 to Rs1,300.

The Multan-Sukkur M-5 highway now charges Rs1,500 per car, up from Rs1,200, and the Dera Ismail Khan-Hakla M-14 motorway toll has risen from Rs650 to Rs800.

Car tolls on the E-35 highway connecting Hassan Abdal, Havelian, and Mansehra have been increased from Rs300 to Rs350.

In addition to individual cars, toll prices for large traffic have increased significantly, with fees for articulated trucks surpassing Rs7,000 on some routes.
