The military ordered Palestinians to evacuate the region early Thursday after Israeli airstrikes in the territory’s north killed at least 15 people, according to Gaza’s civil defense service.

The attacks struck many residences in the Shujaiya neighborhood of Gaza City, according to agency spokesperson Mahmud Bassal. “There are still a number of people trapped under the rubble,” he stated.

Residents of Shujaiya and a few other northern Gazan areas were given a fresh evacuation order by the Israeli military.

In a post on X, military spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated, “The IDF is operating with great force in your areas to destroy the terrorist infrastructure.”

“You must evacuate these areas immediately and move to the known shelters in western Gaza City.”
