ISLAMABAD (A. News): Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, the founders of the PTI, made the decision to ask the Islamabad High Court to have their sentencing in the £190 million corruption case suspended.
Party insiders claim that the petition for the sentence’s suspension was drafted by PTI’s legal staff.
According to the appeal, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) misused its power and behaved maliciously by rendering a quick decision based on insufficient inquiry. It also draws attention to the fact that the NAB was reluctant to provide the language of the agreement with the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA). Furthermore, the probe did not include NCA officers.
According to the petition, the prosecution did not provide enough convincing evidence. If the sentence is suspended, the petitioners promise the court that they will cooperate fully and that they will be present at all appeal sessions.
The petition asked that the January 17 sentencing be suspended and that the petitioners be released on bail until the main appeal’s final ruling.
