Romania’s Bucharest (AP) — Social media celebrity Andrew Tate was ordered by a court in the capital of Romania on Friday to leave the country but stay in the European Union while he awaits trial for rape, human trafficking, and organising a criminal organisation to sexually abuse women.

Mateea Petrescu, Tate’s spokesman, praised the Bucharest Tribunal’s ruling to permit the 37-year-old to depart the nation, calling it a “significant victory and a major step forward” in the case. It’s unclear if the prosecution will or is able to appeal the court’s ruling.
