ISLAMABAD — In a crackdown on human traffickers and their facilitators, 27 FIA employees have been detained, 48 fired, and two forced to retire.

The action was taken against FIA officials from Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Quetta zones. In another raid, FIA Gujranwala apprehended two accused fugitive human traffickers.

Nasir Mahmood and Adnan Ali, two suspects, were detained in Sialkot and Sarai Alamgir.

Nasir Mahmood allegedly received Rs2.7 million from a person in exchange for promising to take him to Greece.
In another operation, authorities apprehended a member of the Chinioti Group, bringing the total number of arrested suspects to eight.

They had taken Rs 40 million from 34 persons under the premise of transporting them to Europe.
