ISLAMABAD – On Wednesday, the Jamat-e-Islami and the government convened a second round of discussion.

The JI had presented its demands to the governmental committee and stated that it was dedicated to continuing the peaceful demonstration.

Liaquat Baloch, speaking to the media following the meeting, stated that protest and dialogue will go hand in hand because the party possessed widespread support.

We have consistently stated that the people cannot afford to pay the soaring power costs, and that the government should take this seriously.

On the occasion, Federal Minister Amir Muqaam stated that the government, too, wished to lower the prices of electricity, gasoline, and grain.
