ISLAMABAD: The legislators who took an oath on reserved seats earlier have chosen to address the court in their individual capacity.

These MPs’ memberships were later suspended in the wake of the Supreme Court’s reserved seat decision.

The Peshawar High Court’s decision to deny the PTI special seats for female and non-Muslim candidates in assemblies was overturned by the supreme court last week.

In a majority 8-5 ruling, the top court said that the electoral Commission’s reserved seat policies were “unconstitutional,” and it further declared that the PTI would continue to exist as a political party even in the absence of an electoral symbol.
