LAHORE – Justice Anwarul Haq Pannu of the Lahore High Court said on Wednesday that “they, too, will face the music for what they are doing today” because it’s karma – a clear reference to the government’s actions against PTI leaders and workers for their alleged involvement in the May 9 mayhem.
He was hearing a case for targeting his family members brought by former financial advisor Salman Shah, who worked in both Pervez Musharraf’s and the PTI regimes.
His daughter Khadija Shah was apprehended on Tuesday after evading various police searches over the course of many days. She is being held responsible for the assault and torching of the corps commander’s residence in Lahore.
According to the suit submitted by his lawyers, Khawaja Tariq Rahim and Azhar Siddique, Khadija surrendered to police a day earlier. Justice Pannu inquired as to what was impeding (the government’s) presentation of the relevant record.
In their response, the attorneys said that the nation had never experienced what was now taking place.
The court said that they may face the same consequences for their conduct as karma and deferred further proceedings until May 26 (Friday) while obtaining the record.
