Peshawar (A News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has proposed a Rs200 billion development plan for the Hazara Division.

The declaration was made during a meeting at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House with Hazara Division legislators, when comprehensive deliberations were held on the next Annual Development Programme (ADP).

Participants at the conference encouraged the federal government to dualize the Haripur-Mansehra GT Road, which is under the control of the National Highway Authority (NHA). The chief minister announced that the province government will offer financial help for the road’s extension in order to promote public transportation.

Sohail Afridi instructed that Rs50 billion from the whole package be set aside for tourism-related projects. He also directed MPs to convene a separate consultation session to suggest proposals for inclusion in the special development plan.

The chief minister also announced the issue of a notice to establish Allai as a distinct district. He stated that the upcoming fiscal year’s development agenda will be unique from past ones, with a focus on large-scale and public benefit initiatives, as well as the timely completion of current works.

Before finalizing the ADP, PC-1 documentation for development projects will be drafted, with an emphasis on the province’s impoverished regions. The conference was also attended by the Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and members of the National and Provincial Assemblies of Hazara.
