ISLAMABAD ( A News): A group from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has arrived in Pakistan to examine the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Insiders from the Ministry of Finance claim that the team will draft budget suggestions by meeting with officials from the finance ministry.

According to the sources, the group will discuss tax revenue strategies, spending management, and developmental spending with Pakistani officials.

They stated that the IMF will also establish goals for the provinces’ adoption of agricultural tax collecting techniques.

They said that external funding for debt repayment and development initiatives would also be completed, as well as the pension plan’s implementation will be completed.

Sources claim that a decision about the next loan tranche under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) would be made following an evaluation of the status of commitments.

The first week of June is probably when the federal budget for fiscal year 2025–2026 will be unveiled.
