RAWALPINDI: A Pakistan Army Major embraced martyrdom, while 13 Khawarij were killed in three different operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to ISPR.
The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Jani Khel region of Bannu District in response to Khwarij’s suspected presence. During the operation, forces efficiently engaged the Khwarij position, killing two of them.
Another intelligence-based operation was carried out in North Waziristan District. In the subsequent firefight, five Khwarij were efficiently eliminated by security personnel, while eight were injured.
However, amid the heavy exchange of fire, Major Muhammad Awais, a Pakistan Army officer commanding his soldiers from the front, accepted martyrdom.
In a third confrontation in South Waziristan District, our soldiers effectively eliminated six Khwarij and wounded eight more.
Sanitation works are underway to eradicate any remaining Khwarjis in the region.
The ISPR went on to say that the security forces are determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism, and the sacrifices of our brave warriors only enhance our determination.
Previously, a Pakistan Army soldier accepted martyrdom when security forces foiled an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghan border and killed four militants.
“The movement of a group of khwarij, who were trying to infiltrate through the Pak-Afghan border, was picked up by the security forces in the Rajgal area of District Khyber,” the Islamabad News Agency said.
