ISLAMABAD — Pakistan Telecommunications Limited (PTCL) said on Thursday that internet services had been restored after a problem was discovered in the Asia-Africa-Europe-1 (AAE-1) underwater cable, disrupting internet connection and slowing speeds across the nation.

PTCL responded with the situation quickly and ensured that internet services were restored, allowing consumers to utilize the internet uninterrupted.

The AAE-1 underwater cable system spans an amazing 25,000 kilometers, linking Pakistan to different countries in Asia, Africa, and Europe via fiber-optic technology.

This resulted in a slow internet connection and affected services for Pakistani consumers. Shortly after, PTCL rectified the issue by procuring extra bandwidth, reducing the discomfort and keeping the experience bearable.

“PTCL overcomes internet speed issues caused by the AAE-1 underwater cable outage in record time. “Internet services are now fully operational, and browsing is smooth,” stated a PTCL spokeswoman.

According to the statement, meta services like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram are running well, ensuring that consumers have a seamless experience.
