ISLAMABAD – While hearing a contempt of court suit filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Justice Saman Riffat served notices on the Interior Secretary, Chief Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and Islamabad IGP.
The PTI filed a contempt of court suit when the deputy commissioner refused to grant permission to hold a public protest, despite a court order allowing it.
The PTI’s attorney, Shoaib Shaheen, stated that the party had been denied permission to organize protests in Islamabad.
He further stated that the deputy commissioner issued the denial decision after the PTI filed a contempt of court appeal.
