ISLAMABAD: The Power Division was contacted by the Senate Standing Committee on Power to provide information on the payments made to Independent Power Producers (IPPs) during the previous 20 years.

The committee requested information about the payments made to IPPs by sending a questionnaire to the secretary of Power Division.

The Senate Standing Committee on Power also requested information about the sponsors of all privately constructed power facilities, as well as the rationale for the payments.

The committee also requested information from the Power Division regarding the costs associated with building wind power plants and producing electricity throughout the previous six years.
