LAHORE – Former Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi applied to the anti-corruption court on Monday for an exemption from appearing in a case involving illegal recruitments in the Punjab Assembly.
Judge Safdar Ali Bhatti of the anti-corruption court presided over the hearing and learned that Parvez Elahi was unable to attend due to infirmity and illness.
A PTI leader’s counsel appeared before the judge and requested his absence from the hearing, citing his health.
Elahi informed the court via the application that his physician had advised bed rest because he had become quite weak and infirm after being imprisoned for a long time.
