LAHORE: For security concerns, the Punjab government has implemented Section 144 and outlawed pillion riding from Muharramul Haram’s 7th to 10th throughout the state.
Guidelines for security during the Muharramul Haram have been released by the Punjab Home Department. The secretary of the Home Department was instructed to make sure that security measures were foolproof and to adhere to SOPs.
It is forbidden to innovate during the processions and majalis.
It is forbidden to display any kind of weapon or explosive device in a public setting without the appropriate authority’s consent.
Provocative slogans and movements that aim to harm public attitudes and beliefs are strictly prohibited. Remarks that incite hatred against specific faiths, sects, or racial groups are subject to Section 144.
