ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday prevented Islamabad police from detaining a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf legal team without authorization from the court.
The petition was brought by PTI legal team member Sher Afzal Marwat, who appeared in court with his lawyer Qazi Adil. During the hearings, the court requested that the police and others give a report on the cases filed against Marwat. The court also requested that the officials involved inform it if Marwat’s name is on the Exit Control List (ECL).
Later, Justice Arbab Tahir deferred the case till Friday, with the instruction not to arrest Marwat without first receiving permission from the court.
