KARACHI – Asad Umar, a former federal minister, has refuted the reports of his imprisonment.

Asad Umar, a senior PTI politician, said that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had not actually detained him and that the story of his detention was inaccurate.

Asad Umar said in an interview with a private TV network that he had come to court to take part in a cipher case hearing. In the cipher case, he claimed to have entered a pre-arrest bail plea.

Umar said that he had twice joined the cipher case investigations. In the cipher case, he promised to receive a clean bill of health.

It should be remembered that two days earlier, word was spreading that Umar had been detained in connection with the cipher issue.

In this regard, according to FIA officials, Umar had just been questioned and not legally detained. In the cipher case, he was questioned.
