ISLAMABAD – Members of Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar’s caretaker administration took their oaths of office on Thursday, facing extraordinary economic and political hurdles.

At a ceremony attended by the prime minister and other authorities, President Dr Arif Alvi administered the oath of office to cabinet members.

Sarfraz Bugti has been sworn in as caretaker interior minister, Aniq Ahmad has been appointed religion minister, Dr Nadeem Jan has been appointed health minister, and Ahmed Irfan Aslam has been appointed law minister.

Furthermore, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has been appointed as the country’s temporary finance minister, while Murtaza Solangi has been appointed as the country’s communication minister. Jalil Abbas Jilani will be appointed foreign minister, Umar Saif as information technology minister, Shahid Ashraf Tarar as communication minister, and retired Lt Gen Ali Anwar Haider as defense minister.

In addition, Jamal Shah will assume the position of minister for national heritage and culture, while Gohar Ejaz, Sami Saeed, and Muhammad Ali have been nominated interim ministers for energy, commerce, and planning, respectively.

The position of federal education minister will be filled by Madad Ali Sindhi, while the temporary human rights minister is Khalil George.
