The Supreme Court issued a thorough decision in the May 14 election dispute.

The 25-page decision was written by Justice Muneeb Akhtar.

According to the verdict, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has the responsibility, rather than the authority, to conduct elections under Article 218/3 of the constitution.

The election commission’s counsel informed the Supreme Court that the commission lacked both security and funding, according to the verdict, adding that it is the ECP’s job to organize elections for the general public, political parties, and voters.

Elections are demanded not only by applicants, but also by KPK, Punjab, and the general population.
