The administration of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has designated a number of the province’s districts as sensitive during the Muharram processions. It is urged that Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) make suitable security precautions for the situation.
The districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the home department, include Peshawar, Kohat, Hangu, Dera Ismail Khan, Kurram, Orakzai, and Tank. Additionally, in these eleven districts of the province, 4,500 places of worship were designated as the most sensitive during Muharram.
During the holy month of Muharram, the home department has decided to deploy police, FC, and Frontier Corps to execute security responsibilities at sensitive and most sensitive places of worship.
