According to the daily Aargauer Zeitung, a parliamentary probe into the collapse of Credit Suisse will keep its papers secret for 50 years, raising concerns among Swiss historians.
The Swiss Federal Archives will receive the investigative commission’s files, which include witness testimonies and papers, after a far longer interval than the customary 30 years, the newspaper reported.
On Saturday, a comment was requested of the Swiss parliament.
The commission’s chairman, Swiss upper house politician Isabelle Chassot, received a letter from Sacha Zala, president of the Swiss Society for History, expressing worries over the length of time.
