Pau Torres, a Spanish international defender, has rejoined Aston Villa manager Unai Emery after joining the Premier League club from Villarreal on Wednesday.
Torres, 26, is expected to join Villa for a cost of £35 million ($45 million).
The centre-back was a vital member of Emery’s Villarreal team that won the Europa League in 2021 and advanced to the Champions League semi-finals the following year.
Torres, who has 23 Spain caps, came up through the Villarreal youth system and played 123 times for his hometown club.
