The Islamabad High Court (IHC) extended its previous judgement stopping criminal proceedings against the PTI chairman in the Toshakhana matter on Thursday.
During Thursday’s session, Khawaja Harris, the former premier’s lawyer, asked the court to extend the stay order for another week. The attorney for Pakistan’s Election Commission (ECP) requested the court to enable the trial court to begin proceedings against the PTI head.
Advocate Harris also told the Supreme Court that he had filed a petition contesting the trial court’s jurisdiction.
Justice Farooq delayed the case till June 14 after hearing the arguments.
