Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML), projected that the political situation in Pakistan will be apparent by June 20, since significant decisions are expected during this period.

In a series of tweets, the former interior minister said that while PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and JUI-F president Fazlur Rehman had stated that elections will be conducted, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had tied polls to a level playing field.

He bemoaned the disregard of the public and the Constitution, claiming that the “planners” had turned a blind eye to ground realities. People, he added, looked up to the judges. He said that jail threats would have little effect on public opinion.
