Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla (TSLA.O), is set to visit China this week, according to three people familiar with the matter, for the first time in three years.
Musk will meet with senior Chinese officials and see Tesla’s Shanghai site, according to two sources.
It was unknown who Musk would meet with and what they would discuss. Because the matter is private, those familiar with the trip declined to be identified.
Tesla and China’s State Council Information Office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
