Reuters According to figures from the Central Bank, the amount of foreign investors who departed from Russia between March 2022 and March 2023 after selling their businesses there was close to $36 billion.
Many of the biggest companies in the world have left or decreased their operations in Russia in response to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
The central bank minimised the impact of foreign firms leaving last week, claiming that just 200 sale transactions had been completed in the period of March 2022–23, and that only 20% of those sales were of large assets, defined as those over $100 million.
