Police detained Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) politician and former Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Shehryar Khan Afridi in Islamabad late Monday night.
Following nationwide violent protests against the imprisonment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the government has tightened the noose around the PTI leaders. According Pakistani sources, Shehryar Afridi was apprehended in Islamabad’s F/8 district.
According to sources, Shehryar Afridi was detained under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (3MPO). Following his arrest, police sent him to an undisclosed location.
