ISLAMABAD – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan remarked that both Pakistan and Turkey want to expand their bilateral trade volume to $5 billion.

Addressing a joint news conference with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Fidan expressed thanks for Ishaq Dar’s kind welcome, noting that both nations have deep-rooted, fraternal connections that continue to strengthen over time.

He emphasized that the two countries had considerably increased cooperation in vital fields such as the economy, culture, and defense.

“Pakistan and Turkiye share a unique and time-tested relationship, which is now being transformed into an institutional partnership,” stated Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

The Turkish foreign minister thanked Pakistan for its warm welcome and lauded the two nations’ strong and expanding cooperation.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Dar stated that negotiations were underway to construct a special economic zone for Turkish businessmen in Karachi as well as to launch Turkey’s famed Maarif schools in Azad Kashmir.

Dar stressed that Pakistan regards Turkey as a reliable friend and fraternal nation. He noted that the two nations’ defense committees will meet in September.

Pakistan and Turkey are engaging in a variety of fields through joint committees. Dar also praised Turkiye’s experience and stated that the two countries have similar perspectives on a number of regional and international problems.

Dar remarked that hosting the Turkish foreign and defense ministers demonstrates the strength of bilateral relations, which are bolstered by numerous high-level meetings.

Separately, Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler visited Pakistan’s Air Headquarters and met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu.

Their conference centered on regional security, defense collaboration, and future military methods.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Minister of National Defence Yasar Guler arrived at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar greeted the dignitaries.

They conducted bilateral meetings, followed by a joint news conference.
