Karachi (A News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has left for Karachi on a one-day visit, barely a few days after returning from a weekend excursion to the metropolis.
The chief minister’s official account on X wrote, “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi is departing for Karachi on a one-day brief visit.” A video accompanying the tweet showed Afridi entering the KP airport with party members, including his assistant Shafiullah Jan.
During this visit, Afridi plans to pay his condolences and convey sorrow to the family of PTI worker Bilal Mehsud, who died recently in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth district.
Afridi had already visited Karachi over the weekend to mobilize PTI members ahead of the party’s countrywide mass mobilization. The Sindh government first permitted a PTI gathering in Bagh-i-Jinnah. However, blaming difficulties in acquiring the permit, the party announced a change of site, choosing to host the meeting near one of Mazar-i-Quaid’s gates.
The last-minute modification caused disturbance among supporters at Bagh-i-Jinnah, prompting police bombardment of the gathering. During his last visit, Afridi complimented the people of Sindh for their warm welcome, but attacked the provincial government, stating that it hindered his convoy on the route from Hyderabad to Karachi.
