RAWALPINDI (A News)– Former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were sentenced to jail and penalties by a special court on Saturday after being found guilty of corruption allegations.

According to Judge Shahrukh Arjumand’s judgment, Khan has been condemned to 17 years in jail. This includes ten years of harsh imprisonment under Section 409, which addresses criminal breach of trust, as well as an extra seven years under Section 5/2/47 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Bushra Bibi received a similar 17-year sentence under the same legal conditions.

Both were formally charged with the case in December of last year.

The allusion is to the reported acquisition of a high-value Bulgari jewelry set at a drastically discounted price.
