KURRAM UPPER – Unidentified attackers murdered eight schoolteachers in two separate instances in Parachinar on Thursday, causing the Kohat board to suspend the current matriculation exams.

Unidentified individuals, according to authorities, opened fire on instructors on test duty in the Teri Mengal school’s staff area. In the other case, instructor Muhammad Sharif was slain while going on Shalozan Road.

Police initiated a search for the assailants, and rescue workers transported the deceased corpses to Parachinar Hospital.

Rehmat Salam Khattak, education advisor to the KP interim government, said that the new matric test timetable will be issued after things returned to normal.

Condemnations

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif denounced the event and demanded a report from the relevant authorities.

The Prime Minister conveyed his sincere sadness for the deaths caused by the shooting in Kurram area. He also expressed his sympathies to the families of the dead and wished those wounded in the event a speedy recovery.

The Prime Minister instructed the appropriate authorities to give a full report on the occurrence. He emphasised the need of bringing those guilty for this horrible crime to justice as quickly as possible.

President Dr. Arif Alvi denounced the tragedy and asked for the victims’ forgiveness.
