The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced its new Hajj 2025 regulatory policy, which requires security certification for Hajj packages worth Rs3 million or more.
The ministry also stated on Saturday that the names of persons registering for a private Hajj package for Rs3 million or more will be forwarded to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and security authorities for clearance. The FBR would examine such people’s assets and tax records. Their personal records would also be examined to ensure they were not involved in any illegal activity in Pakistan. The ministry will clear these persons for Hajj based on FBR and security agency reports.
The travel operators offering Rs3 million or more in Hajj packages would also disclose data about the applicants to the government, which would subsequently authorize these packages. The ministry has designated its official Muhammad Hakeem Khattak as the focal person for this high-profile Hajj project.
