Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Faisal Abdul Sattar of Karachi’s famous cardiac hospital, the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), submitted his resignation on Wednesday after depositing Rs2.3 million in the institution’s account.

According to sources, NICVD administration decided to undertake a comprehensive investigation after reports of financial misappropriation appeared in the hospital.

During the inquiry, strong evidence was discovered indicating the participation of CFO Faisal Abdul Sattar in the financial theft.

After becoming concerned about being named in the lawsuit, the CFO decided to offer his resignation on a priority basis.
