Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) leader Sahibzada Hamid Raza stated on Wednesday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan was offered the opportunity to leave the nation for three years without the government’s approval.

Speaking through local networks Hamid Raza stated that the offer to transfer the PTI head overseas came from people outside the government immediately after the general elections.

He added that neither the government nor its officials were contacted on this proposal.

“The government had no role in this offer,” Sahibzada said, adding that despite negotiations, significant places such as Bani Gala and Zaman Park were never discussed.

He described the situation as confusing, claiming that a lack of clarity impeded substantial progress in the parties’ conversations.

Talks about the judicial commission

Sahibzada Hamid Raza commented on the sessions conducted to break the political stalemate.

During the second meeting, SIC enquired about the government’s demands, only to be told that none existed. He called the government’s hesitancy to clarify its position “childish” and argued that it demonstrated a lack of seriousness.

He stressed the importance of forming a judicial commission to address PTI’s grievances. “If a judicial commission isn’t established in the third meeting, the fourth meeting might not happen,” he warned, hinting at the fragility of the ongoing negotiations.
