The couple settled a domestic violence complaint outside of court.
Nargis filed a complaint in Lahore alleging physical abuse following a money disagreement.
Nargis claimed her husband of attacking her over a financial argument.
Her brother, Khurram Bhatti, reported the event, alleging his sister had been subjected to serious physical abuse.
Nargis submitted an official complaint, which resulted in legal action against Inspector Bashir.
Despite the gravity of the claims, the case was eventually handled outside of court with the help of the couple’s families.
Both sides filed a consensual agreement with the court, and Inspector Majid Bashir dropped his plea for interim bail.
Nargis’ legal counsel indicated that family elders’ opinion affected their choice to reconcile.
They had underlined the significance of maintaining their friendship.
However, the decision has provoked heated public debate, with many questioning the underlying flaws that allow abusers to avoid harsh punishments.
