LAHORE – The Jamaat-e-Islami has decided to hold a sit-in outside the Punjab Chief Minister’s House to protest increased power costs.
JI Lahore Emir Ziauddin Ansari declared that the protest and sit-in in Lahore were being arranged at the request of JI Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman.
The demonstration would be converted into a public rally against the increase in power rates.
He asked the provincial government to support their constitutional right to demonstrate rather than obstructing the party’s efforts.
