Russia claims it downed 36 Ukraine-launched drones over numerous Russian territories.

(Reuters) – Russia’s air defence systems destroyed 36 drones fired by Ukraine overnight, targeting different districts in Russia’s southwest, the Russian defence ministry said on Sunday.

Fifteen drones were destroyed over the Kursk region, which borders Ukraine, and nine over the Lipetsk region, several hundred kilometres south of Moscow, according to the defence ministry’s Telegram messaging app.

Four drones were destroyed over the Voronezh and Bryansk areas in southern Russia, with two each over the neighbouring Oryol and Belgorod regions.

The governors of Lipetsk and Bryansk regions stated on their Telegram channels that there were no casualties or significant damage as a consequence of the attacks.
