ISLAMABAD – The existing federal government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has divided its standing committees among its partners, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P).
According to legislative sources, the PML-N was expected to have 13 standing committees, while the PPP would hold nine.
However, the PPP has assumed the leadership of 11 standing committees.
PPP has been successful in securing the leadership of major standing committees such as treasury, communication, and foreign affairs.
However, MQM-P has received a share in four standing committees rather than two.
