Petition filed in LHC against ‘abduction’ of Usman Dar’s brother

LAHORE – A case has been filed with the Lahore High Court in connection with the alleged kidnapping of Umar Dar, the brother of former PTI leader Usman Dar.

Respondents in the petition include key authorities such as the Punjab police chief and the CCPO of Lahore.

The appeal, submitted by Usman’s legal counsel Abuzar Salman Niazi, claimed that the Dar family had been exposed to political persecution on a regular basis. It was stated that Dar’s mother was running against Asif in Silakot elections, and that the family was being targeted for political reasons.

According to Dar’s appeal, he went to a luxury hotel for supper yesterday night and was taken by more than 40 persons, including police officers.

The appeal also requested that the court order the government to bring Umar Dar before the law since the abducted family was being used as a political pawn.
