Conjunctivitis is on the rise, with Punjab reporting over 15,000 new cases in the past day.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – With 15,105 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the area of Punjab has seen a significant spike in conjunctivitis cases.

379,690 cases of eye infection were recorded across 36 districts in Punjab, according to information published by the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department.

In the previous day, conjunctivitis cases increased in Lahore by 916, Bahawalpur by 3,324; Multan by 1,217; Faisalabad by 1,827; and Rawalpindi by 242 new cases of eye flu.

According to the health authority, conjunctivitis usually goes away on its own in eight to 10 days.

It has been suggested to practice good eye care, which includes routinely cleaning with clean water, protecting eyes from harsh sunlight, and covering them from dust and debris.

Additionally, in order to reduce the risk of transmission, those who have eye infections should keep their clothes and towels separate from others’.
