Rain batters portions of the nation

LAHORE – On Sunday, many sections of the nation, including the provincial capital, were battered by intense rain and strong winds.

The provincial capital’s streets and roadways were flooded by rain in various locations. The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco)’s feeders tripped due to the rain, which also affected the city’s energy supply.

Other regions of the nation, such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Shakargarh, Jhelum, Gujrat, and Narowal, have also experienced rain.

Pre-monsoon showers, according to Senator Sherry Rehman, the federal minister for climate change, are expected to lessen the present excessive heatwave.

The federal minister tweeted that pre-monsoon rains are expected throughout the nation from June 25 to June 30 in accordance with the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s recommendation.

Between June 25 and June 30, Senator Rehman said that numerous cities in Punjab, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will see severe winds, thunderstorms, and heavy rain.
