Ikramullah Gandapur, a former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lawmaker, also resigned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Sunday.
He expressed his opposition to the May 9 events and his belief that individuals who took part in rioting should face consequences at a news conference in Peshawar. After his uncle’s sacrifice, he said, “My family stuck with the PTI,” highlighting the fact that his father stuck with the party through thick and thin.
“This country exists because of the army,” he said, adding that he had seen many difficult circumstances. However, as a Pakistani, he was no longer affiliated with the PTI as a result of the May 9 incident.
