LAHORE:- An anti-terrorism court in Lahore denied interim bail to PTI leaders Fawad Chaudhry, Hammad Azhar, and Farrukh Habib on Saturday for failing to appear in court in a case filed against them for violence, vandalism, murder, attempted murder, and meddling in official affairs during the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf rally.
The petition was considered by an anti-terrorism court judge. Fawad Chaudhry, Hammad Azhar, and Farrukh Habib, leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, did not present in court. For failing to appear in court, the judge terminated their temporary bails.
The Racecourse police had filed charges against the PTI leaders under 12 distinct categories, including terrorism, murder, attempted murder, vandalism, and hindering law enforcement officers in the conduct of their official duties.
Meanwhile, Mehmoodur Rashid and Ijaz Chaudhry, leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, appeared before the anti-terrorism court. Both leaders were permitted to go after the court noted their presence and extended their temporary bails until April 4.
Meanwhile, ATC Judge Buttar handed Robkar (release papers) to 93 PTI workers who were detained during the police operation at Zaman Park on allegations of damage and terrorism.
The PTI employees each posted Rs50,000 surety bonds in exchange for their release. On Friday, the court granted bail to 93 PTI employees in exchange for Rs50,000 surety bonds.
